"Granite Niche" by Carolyn Jean Thompson

12 x 9 watercolor, watersoluable pencils, traditional colored pencils


Last fall while hiking in the high Sierra Nevada (9,000 feet), I saw these plants growing out of a crack in the granite rocks.  The sun was filtering through the trees and a spot of light hit these lovely yellow and red leaves.
